Simuvaction on AI 2024

Conference

March 19 All day

Would you like to experience being a Head of State, Journalist, or Lobbyist and influence AI policies? Do you want to see how you can impact negotiations? Would you like to draft an international-level recommendation on an important AI policy? If so, join us for this exercise replicating a meeting of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), be ready to truly invest in your role and stand for the position of your stakeholders!

SIMUVACTION, hosted by the Consulat General de France in Atlanta, the Emory Center for Ethics and the Georgia Institute of Technology, is a challenging and stimulating program for 40 university students from diverse international and interdisciplinary backgrounds.

Over 6-8 weeks, students adopt roles such as Heads of State, Journalists, and Lobbyists, engaging in a simulated environment that mirrors the complexities of global AI policymaking. The program culminates in a four-day intensive session in Atlanta (March 16 – March 19), where students apply their learning in a high-stakes negotiation scenario in drafting, debating, and adopting a text as if they were a Global Partnership on AI member.

Designed to bridge the gap between academic study and real-world policy challenges, SIMUVACTION is an opportunity for students to understand the intricacies of AI ethics and raise their voices on a topic that will shape their future.
