“Tomorrow” (“Demain”) has been a phenomenon in Europe. Winner of ‘Best Documentary’ at the Cesar Awards (French Oscars), it is a remarkable and inspirational exploration of what a sustainable future could look like.
After a special report published in the journal Nature announced the possible extinction of part of mankind before the end of the 21st century, co-directors Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent, together with a team of four people, carried out an investigation in ten different countries to figure out what may lead to this disaster and above all how to avoid it.
During their journey, they met the pioneers who are re-inventing agriculture, energy, economy, democracy and education. Joining the concrete and positive actions already under way, they began to figure out what tomorrow’s world could be like…

CYRIL DION
After a short career as an actor, Cyril became Project Manager for the Hommes de Paroles Foundation and took part in the organization of the Israeli-Palestinian Congress of Caux (First Congress of the Alliance for a Culture of Peace) in 2003. In 2005 and 2006, he participated in the First and Second World Congress of Imans and Rabbis for Peace in Bruxelles and Sevilla respectively.
In 2007, he founded the Colibris movement with Pierre Rabhi and some friends, which he ran until July 2013. Today, he works as its spokesperson and is a member of the Board Council. Meanwhile, he is the co-founder of Kaizen Magazine and the Domaine du Possible Series for French publisher “Actes Sud”. In 2010, he was an executive producer for Colibris’ “Local solutions for a global disorder” by Colline Serreau. In 2014, he published a book of poems called “Assis sur le fil (Seated on the Wire) at la Table Ronde.
MELANIE LAURENT
An actress since the age of 14, Mélanie Laurent has been in over 40 movies, including Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Bastards”, Philippe Lioret’s” Je vais bien ne t’en fais pas”, Radu Mihaileanu’s “Le Concert”, Roselyn Bosch’s “La Rafle”, Billie August’s “Night Train To Lisbon”, Mike Mills’s “Beginners”.
As a filmmaker, she has worked on two shorts and two feature films. Her second movie, “Respire” (Breath), was adapted from a novel by Anne-Sophie Brasme and featured at the Semaine de la Critique at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. She is currently preparing “Plonger”, an adaptation from the novel by Christophe Ono-dit-bio.
