Music & Technology | Diemo Schwarz & Grace Leslie – Music-Mind-Movement Concert

A collaboration between IRCAM & Georgia Tech

In collaboration with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, the Georgia Tech School of Music is establishing strong links in research and education with France’s Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music (IRCAM). An agreement will be signed between Georgia Tech and IRCAM to formalize the collaboration.

IRCAM researcher and musician Diemo Schwarz will perform a concert with electronic musician and Georgia Tech researcher Grace Leslie. During this performance, brain waves will steer the musical voyage through a landscape of sounds and tangible embodied interaction will articulate and reshape the musical material.

IRCAM is a world-renowned institute for science and music, sound and avant-garde electro-acoustical art music. It is situated next to – and organizationally linked with – the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

The Georgia Tech School of Music in the College of Design develops cutting-edge technologies to help define music’s future, such as music informatics, robotic musicianship, and brain-computer interfaces.
