Girls, Women, Sisters | Guy Gabon – Artist Workshop
Guy Gabon, visual artist and filmmaker
Clark Atlanta University Art Museum (CAUAM) artist-in-residence Guy Gabon will present a series of events that provide insight into her artistic production and conceptual practice. Gabon will host a workshop at CAUAM on work-in-progress projects drawing links to Clark Atlanta University’s historic collection of African-American fine art, the city of Atlanta, and women in the American and global South.
This workshop will provide insight into Guy Gabon’s artistic process in preparing the upcoming exhibition “The Bridge of Beyond,” which will open at the Clark Atlanta University Art Museum in February 2020. The art and exhibition’s title is inspired by women’s histories, Caribbean geographies, and a work by Guadeloupean novelist Simone Schwarz-Bart.
