France-Atlanta 2021: A recap of the 12th edition
For the twelfth consecutive year, our annual French-American event series, created by the Consulate General of France and Georgia Tech, highlighted innovative cooperation and transatlantic links.
Innovation and exchange were at the center of the twelfth edition of France-Atlanta, an annual event series focused on strengthening ties between France and the U.S. Southeast. The diverse program included a dozen, mostly virtual events featuring discussions on recurring subjects as well as more recent, top-of-mind issues that affect us all.
For the second year in a row, artificial intelligence was discussed during a webinar on the ethical questions related to this new technology. Another event focused on technology and culture provided participants the opportunity to discover the role of digital systems in enhancing the creativity of professional musicians as well as casual users.
The COVID-19 was another key theme of this year as experts discussed supply chain management and logistics in the distribution of limited healthcare resources.
Addressing the world’s environmental challenges was at the center of two events: a round table on the need to reimagine the building material cycle and materials to reduce impacts; and a seminar on agrifood research advances and options for alternative, less resource-intensive sources of proteins.
Among the notable business events, a summit brought together entrepreneurs and industry experts to discuss the latest developments in Atlanta’s FinTech sector. This event was particularly timely given the accreditation of French Tech Atlanta in April 2021.
The French-American Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta’s Crystal Peach Awards was the official closing event of this edition. This black tie optional gala served to recognize the most significant transatlantic investments.
The 2021 edition of France-Atlanta would not be possible without the support of our French and American partners as well as the contributions of our sponsors: The Honey Bee Foundation, the Raymond F. Schinazi & Family Foundation, TV5Monde, Air France, Jade Fiducial and the French-American Chamber of Commerce – Atlanta.
