France Atlanta 2014 got off to an enthusiastic start with a reception at the Besharat Gallery inAtlanta on the evening of Oct. 16 with formal remarks by Frederic Dore, deputy chief of mission at the French embassy in Washington;Denis Barbet, the consul general of France based in Atlanta; G. P. “Bud’ Peterson, the president of the Georgia Institute of Technology, researchers from Emory University and Inserm of Toulouse, France, and Kasim Reed, the mayor of Atlanta.
The reunion of Jacques Galipeau, a world-renowned expert in regenerative medicine atEmory University’s Winship Cancer Institute, and his counterpart, Luc Sensebe, director of Inserm’s StromaLab center in Toulouse, provided a highlight of the welcoming ceremony.
